Casa Amarela
Who we are
We are a family business with four generations of history in the development of tourism in Castelo de Vide. Casa Amarela was born of a wish — and a stubborn determination — to turn one of the town's most beautiful ruins into a welcoming inn. Casa Amarela is a family home, and it is your home while you are here.
We are open 365 days a year at number 11, Praça de Dom Pedro V, in Castelo de Vide.

History and Heritage
The building's listing as a Monument of Public Interest under Portaria no. 740-EB/2012 guarantees the protection that prevents any aesthetic disfigurement — not only of the house itself, but of the surrounding architectural ensemble — also enhancing the visitor experience.
Built in the 18th century, this monumental urban house stands out from the rest of Castelo de Vide's built fabric for the beauty, elegance and originality of its rocaille façade, and for the use of ochre yellow on its exterior walls.
The façade is ennobled by the elaborately carved granite frames of its openings, by the great size of the windows on the noble floor, and by the ornamental reliefs decorating the building's corners.
The interior has undergone various alterations but still preserves original elements such as openings, frames, interior doors and ceilings with relief stucco work.
